Congressman Kean to Return to Washington D.C. After Months-Long Absence

He promised transparency after an undisclosed illness.

Representative Tom Kean, Jr., of New Jersey reported that he would return to Congress after being absent since mid-March. The congressman, who is running for reelection, has not yet disclosed the health issue that caused him to disappear from the House of Representatives.

In early June, Representative Kean stated, “I am more energized than ever to keep fighting for the people of New Jersey’s 7th District. Right now I am focused on my recovery and under the advice of healthcare professionals, I will transition from virtual work to in person work within a matter of weeks.”

He continued, “At that time I will be completely transparent as to the nature of my medical condition. Once again, I appreciate all of the prayers and patience from my constituents and colleagues. I understand the need for transparency on this matter and I look forward to sharing my experience with the public.”

Media outlets reported that the congressman had returned to his New Jersey home last week. Representative Kean’s spokesperson said that the congressman would return to Capitol Hill this week and “be fully transparent.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Congressman Kean as he returns to the nation’s capital and resumes his duties representing his New Jersey district.
  • For wisdom for Speaker Mike Johnson as he presides over the lower chamber of Congress.
